Element x Keith Haring
Element recently dropped the Element x Keith Haring capsule collection, in collaboration with Artestar, which represents high-profile artists, photographers, designers, and creatives. The collaboration merges skateboarding and street art, bringing to life the elements of New York City skateboarding subcultures of the ‘80s.
After moving to the grimy and diverse streets of New York, Haring started hanging out with the local graffiti artists and musicians. The city’s subway stations became a canvas for his drawings, where he would gather crowds of onlookers, often creating up to 40 drawings in a day. In the 1980s, Haring gained recognition for his bold drawings and paintings, going on to create murals worldwide, and opening a store in London’s Soho.
The artist was an activist throughout his career, and many of Haring’s painting carry social messages, often controversial in subject. Element’s new collaboration features original artwork on collectable pieces such as apparel, skateboard decks, bags, and footwear. The collection focuses on the Element brand's legacy colours: red, black and white.
The Element x Keith Haring capsule collection is available to shop now.
