Fit Flops Gear Review
By Angela C / Southampton
Looking around the market for sandals these days is no small task. There are many to choose from, all with differing styles and differing factors that supposedly make them different from the rest. One of these particular brands is known as Fit Flops.
Fit Flops are a new brand of sandal/flip flop that seem to be different from most other sandals in one particular respect – they are designed to make your feet and lower body muscles work more, and in doing so this effect can help tone the lower body and keep it moving in the directions and ways it should move. In essence, Fit Flops can help you get in shape and keep in shape. Here's how.
Fit Flops incorporate what they are calling 'micro-wobbleboard technology', which basically consist of a midsole that contains varying levels of EVA. The differing levels of density within the midsole are designed to mimic the uneven nature of the ground, testing your feet's contours and movements, and in turn testing the muscles attached to them. This design not only exercises the feet and lower body muscles, but is not unlike walking barefoot.
This effect may seem to be counterproductive to the purpose of a sandal, but the Fit Flop midsole will also take the unnecessary strains out of walking by helping reduce the muscle strain on your feet, along with shock absorption.
Fit Flops warn that their sandals have the potential to increase muscle activity in terms of duration and workload, and as such their sandals should be worn progressively to avoid muscle soreness. This can only be good news, proof that Fit Flops do exactly what they say they do. I’d worn mine for just a few days and already started to notice the difference. I’d recommend them to anyone.
